Our neighbourhood dining room is relaxed yet refined, where leading Australian design meets with the friendly warmth of your favourite local. The menu moves with the seasons and a distinctly Melbourne approach to eating: produce-led, technically sharp and never too precious.

At the heart of Bistro X is Executive Chef Ben John, alongside a team of Melbourne hospitality originals who know that good food is better when there’s someone to share it with.
Ben’s cooking is a little like him: exciting, unexpected and colourful, without the ego. His food is technically considered but never intimidating, making Bistro X feel less like a hotel restaurant and more like the kind of local you’re happy to have around the corner.
Together, the team are building a dining room with its own rhythm, its own regulars and plenty of reasons to keep coming back.

At Bistro X, classic technique meets Melbourne attitude and the beauty of keeping things simple – honest food, made with quality ingredients, enjoyed in good company.
The menu is driven by exceptional Victorian produce, shaped by what’s coming through the markets and the seasons. Vegetables, seafood and quality cuts find their way into playful snacks, generous plates and the occasional indulgence, all with the precision of Michelin-starred experience behind them.
The drinks list follows the same spirit. Local breweries and producers sit alongside Champagne, classic cocktails and bottles worth lingering over.
